Notion launched Notion Agents with a casual, four-line post ending "Available today. Giddy up!" and a 90-second video, timed to its "Make with Notion" event on September 18, 2025. The caption named what the agents do in one plain sentence and left the rest to Notion's own blog post the same day.
What did Notion post?
Introducing Notion Agents.
You assign the tasks, your Agents do the work.
Available today. Giddy up!
Four short lines and an emoji, with one video attached.
How was the launch post built?
Hook. "Introducing Notion Agents" is the name and nothing else. The line that follows is the entire pitch, eleven words split into who does what: "You assign the tasks, your Agents do the work" reads like something a person would say, not a feature description.
Tone. "Available today. Giddy up!" closes the post with a sign-off that doesn't match how big the underlying change was: Notion was rebuilding its AI product around autonomous agents, and the caption still had room for a casual aside.
Format and timing. One video, 90 seconds, no thread, no carousel, no link. The post went up Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 18:31 UTC, during Notion's "Make with Notion" event, per TechCrunch's coverage. It didn't lead the news; the event did.
How did the launch post perform?
The post has 963K views, 3.5K likes, 325 reposts, 147 replies and 228 quotes, with 1.5K bookmarks.
Engagement runs at 0.44% of views, ranking it #47 of 76 in Goated's launch directory. Notion's X account (@NotionHQ) had 531,458 followers at the time this was checked, a base the post drew on directly rather than leaning on a wider cast of accounts.
What happened around the post?
Notion Agents was the headline product of what the company called Notion 3.0, described on Notion's own blog post as a rebuild of Notion AI "from the ground up" into something that can act, not just answer. Per Notion and TechCrunch's reporting, an Agent can work autonomously for up to 20 minutes across hundreds of pages: drafting meeting notes, creating or updating pages and databases, and pulling context from tools like Slack, email and Google Drive. Agents can be given custom names and keep "memories" of past tasks; at launch they had to be triggered manually, with scheduled automation described as coming soon. TechCrunch noted Notion was competing with agent products from Salesforce, Fireflies and Read AI shipping around the same time.
The "coming soon" automation arrived five months later. Per Notion's post introducing Custom Agents, the company launched Custom Agents in February 2026 as autonomous teammates that run on a schedule or trigger, connecting to Notion, Slack, Mail, Calendar, Figma and Linear. Early testers had built more than 21,000 of them during a free beta, priced on usage-based Notion Credits rather than per seat.
What can another team copy?
- 1
Say what the product does in one sentence a person would say
"You assign the tasks, your Agents do the work" explains the feature without naming a button or setting.
- 2
Let the caption stay casual even when the release is not
A platform-level AI relaunch still closed with "Giddy up!" Tone and news size don't have to match.
- 3
Tie the post to a live event, then let the blog carry the depth
The post rode "Make with Notion"; the detail lived in a same-day blog post built to be read slowly.
- 4
Name what's not ready yet, then ship it as its own launch later
Notion flagged scheduled automation in the September post and shipped it, as its own named product, five months later.
